October 2025: Dealing with Child Trauma and its Effect on Learning and Classroom Behaviors(MEMBERS ONLY)
Presented in collaboration with CenClear Child Services), Denise Moore, a senior clinical officer will facilitate a workshop for educators on applying a trauma-informed approach to effectively enhance student learning and minimize disruptive student behaviors caused by these traumas.
November 2025: Athletics & Academics Symposium
Presented in collaboration with PSU Athletics, a day filled with presentations and panel discussions about topics important to athletic directors, coaches and administrators. Presentation will include injury prevention, strength/conditioning, mental toughness, facilities, academic preparation and support and much more.
January 2026: Teacher Burnout & Self-Care (MEMBERS ONLY)
Presented in collaboration with PSU Health and Human Development, Sebrina Doyle Fosco is an associate research professor at Penn State and will facilitate a workshop for teachers to give them tools to care for themselves in stressful situations so they have the resources to care for their students.
February 2026: AI in Education (MEMBERS ONLY)
Jeff Remington, a former teacher and outreach liaison with Center for Science and the Schools will lead an exploration of artificial intelligence and how it can be used effectively to promote learning in our students.
March 2026: How to Harness the Benefits of Failure- A Workshop on K-12 Engineering
PSSC Executive Director Matt Johnson will lead participants through an intervention that enhances problem solving and critical thinking skills of students when they productively fail in engineering design project.
